Great place to try traditional Icelandic dishes. Food was delicious, drinks were strong, and very inviting atmosphere. The service expertly caters to large groups and tourists.

The place looks like a pub but they have amazing exotic food. We came here looking for typical Icelandic food and we were very satisfied. I highly recommend the whale steak and the puffin. We started with a meat soup, which was very good and tasty. Then we had the puffin which comes in a jar with lettuce, and only small pieces of meat, the taste was incredibly good though. The third dish we tried was the cod skin and fermented shark, the cod was very dry and hard to chew, and the shark smelled and tasted like ammonia to me. Finally we had the whale steak which was very tender and juicy. For dessert we had the pancakes which were okay.

Friendly staff and very unique food. Word of warning, the fermented shark is quite strong. My friends and I only tried it for the experience (as I'm sure you will too), and we couldn't finish it. The puffin in a jar and whale crumpet were delicious though. As for the main course, the horse burger was seasoned perfectly and assembled in a unique way to give it a great taste. Worth the prices.

Great place to try Hákarl, but it’s really expensive. I would recommend picking some up at the market or airport. Nice people though!

Very interesting local restaurant that serves Icelandic food. I love the whale meat which is a red meat and taste like beef (to me) the lobster dog which is quite amusing is also worth a try. The service is quite good and they end their business quite late as such, you can visit them late at night.
