Amazing hotel! truly a 5 star restaurant were we had breakfast lunch and dinner, service and everything about it was amazing. We stayed here for three days and stayed over Christmas where we had amazing Christmas dinner and everything about it felt like home. Even the coffee is amazing where I had the best latte I ever had in my life on Christmas eve which I will definitely think about every Christmas. The rooms were clean and spacious, excellent room service too would surely recommend!

What an amazing place to stay. We relaxed for 5 days in the pasha suite and I certainly felt like a pasha! The history of this place really adds a lot of character. The staff are all about ensuring guests have a memorable experience and let’s not forget about Moshe the cat who can be found lounging near the fireplace in the main hall. Really felt at home here and recommend the American Colony—well worth the price!

Very unique place. Worth the effort. One disappointment was the (so called) “famous” afternoon tea in the lobby. It wasn’t fresh, pastry stale, expensive.... not good. Also, for some reason, the staff made an annoying effort to avoid speaking Hebrew, even though they all speak it fluently and most guests were local Israelis. Not nice to “spit to the well that you drink from”. Without Israel, this place was in ruins like it was most of its years.

I did not stay here. We stopped in to check out the book store and gift shop. The grounds are beautiful. The lobby is gorgeous.

We were on a tour and stayed 3 nights. The food was delicious and the wait staff observant and polite. The front desk was professional and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean; we slept soundly. You couldn't hear your neighbors. The air was fragrant, a soothing, refreshing aroma. The courtyard was pleasing and relaxing. We could comfortably walk to the Damascus gate. We enjoyed our stay.
