What a hidden gem! The 100 ton gun is enormous and the explanations of how it was charged up for firing was very clear. I loved the perfect little steam engine and boiler and the tunnels. I learnt loads about the life of soldiers and the conflicts around the world during the British Empire The display cabinets had a brilliant range of items, although the labels have small writing and are near the floor, so they were difficult for me to read. But the best bit was the demonstration of the different types of guns and for €5 you can fire a carbine yourself!

Great experience, very impressive display and demonstration of a soldier's life. the staff being in uniform and in role makes it all much more authentic and fun. full tour is highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this fort. I got there in right time so I went to all live lectures about history of guns, movie about big canon. I enjoyed shooting from old rifle. One of best museums for army and war history lover!

Great experience - enthusiastic knowledgeable staff in authentic outfits bring the place to life - demonstrating everything with humour and energy. Fascinating piece of history, including the largest muzzle loaded canon in the world. Recommend paying the extra €5 to fire a Victorian rifle - apparently the only place in Europe you can do this! Nice little cafe set in the original fort's kitchen. Easy journey to/from here on the number 3 bus from Valletta

The object is worth visiting especially by all lovers of military technology. The famous cannon makes a huge impression, there is also a great exhibition about the life of the fortress crew.
