I really enjoyed my stay during my trip to Alaska. I had no idea the Iditarod was starting the same weekend I was in Anchorage, but the festivities did not disappoint. The hotel is within walking distance of many things. I visited the museum, and a few restaurants and bars in the city as well as watched the ceremonial start of the race. Fletcher's, which is one of Cook's three restaurants, was fantastic. I went there several times for drinks and food. The service there was fantastic. The Captain's Deck had good breakfast and good afternoon snacks. The coffee was very good. All of the staff at the hotel is super great and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. I will definitely return during a summer to experience the summer side of Alaska.

If your traveling don't dare walk around for more than 5 minutes. This place is only nice to people who have money. Or they just like seeing people cold. I dress like I might have enough money for a hotel, will never be a guest here

Great downtown location. Check out the Crows Nest bar / restaurant on the top floor of tower 3 it offers fine dining & and extensive wine selection. 360 degree views

Nice historic hotel, but lacking in room amenities. I didn't even know they still had hotel rooms without a microwave? Fridge was as small as they come. For the nightly rate, I expected more. I cut my 11 night stay short as a result.

I've had the pleasure of visiting the Hotel Captain Cook once ayearfor the last five or six years. I highly recommend it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, there are 3 (usually 4) good food options, a well-equipped gym, and consistently friendly and helpful staff. You won't be disappointed.
